Brand New World

Well well well. The first post of a new blog, and the start of a new way of thinking, for me at least. Or, perhaps the return of an old, but refined, way. That remains to be seen.

I started this blog a couple days ago with the intent of starting my writing projects again, and sharing them with my friends. While that's still a goal, I've realized since that I've got another opportunity: Sharing my thoughts in a way I don't normally get to, and explaining to the world how I feel on a broad variety of things. With that in mind, this blog is going to be much more of a general-purpose blog than it started in my mind. Yes, it's a place for me to post my creative inspirations, and I'll be doing so frequently, but it's also a place for me to get some of my opinions and thoughts on the world out into the open.

I warn you now, my readers. Things in here could get a little messy, and could get more than a bit controversial. Chances are, if you're reading this, you already know how I can be. I say my mind, and I don't rightly give a damn what anyone thinks about it. Sometimes it makes sense. Sometimes it's harsh and unreasonable. Sometimes I'm just plain crazy. But, sometimes, I simply say what we're all thinking and are too afraid to say.

In the deep recesses of my mind, I like to think that we're all good people, at least in our own minds. I'm proud to say that I'm not, and I don't think so. I'm evil, I'm twisted, I'm manipulative. I do things for me, and me alone. I think we've all got a bit of that in ourselves - deep down, we all want what's best for us, and screw the rest. I'm just open with it, as you'll see. Now, this isn't always bad for everyone else. If you ride my coat tails and support me, and make yourself useful to me, then I'm going to help you out just to keep your support. That's me helping you so you'll help me, you see? Just one of the many, many controversial, but truthful, opinions that I'd like to express here, over however long I decide to stick with this blog.

My journey through this won't be simple, or quick, but it should be fun. Getting my mind out on a blank canvas for all to see is going to be an interesting, and difficult, but fun process. I want your feedback, all of it - the good, the bad, the argumentative, and the just plain weird. Every entry I make will be posted to Facebook, Twitter, G+, and wherever else I feel like it. I expect you, my readers, to comment and criticize liberally. The more you help me go through with this, the better these posts will get, and the more enjoyment you'll have reading them. You help me so I help you so you'll help me more, remember?

So, here we go then. Off to a brave new world, where anything can happen. Don't forget to look both ways before you cross the street.
